Source-to-summary pipelines

Feed Summary Content Workflows

Article pages, PDFs, APIs, and websites need different extraction controls before they can share one summary and verification system.

Content workflows

Choose the source-specific path

Every source type should converge on the same core record without pretending extraction is identical.

Article summaries

Combine feed metadata, page extraction, structured blocks, and evidence-linked output.

Article workflow

PDF summaries

Preserve pages, layout, OCR, tables, captions, and document sections.

PDF workflow

News API briefings

Query, normalize, cluster, rank novelty, and create time-bounded briefings.

News API workflow

Website scraping

Use allowlists, crawl policy, change detection, and source-specific extractors.

Scraping workflow

Prompt contracts

Version task instructions, schemas, examples, limits, and evaluation sets.

Prompt library

News agents

Coordinate bounded tools, state transitions, verification, review, and publishing.

Agent architecture

Normalized output

The shared handoff

Regardless of source, downstream summarization needs the same minimum evidence.

Operational design

Fail visibly

A partial result can be useful when its limits are explicit.

Coverage states

Use values such as full, partial, excerpt, metadata-only, blocked, unsupported, and failed. Display them in the source record and final briefing.

Do not return a polished summary that hides an empty table extraction or unreadable scanned appendix.

Warnings and review

Route low-confidence extraction, conflicting dates, unsupported quantities, and policy uncertainty into a review queue.

Keep stage-specific error codes so the correct component can be fixed.
